James Forrest Obituary

I was surprised and saddened to hear about Porter's passing. He was a dear family friend and, above all, a gentle soul. In every memory I have of Porter, he's smiling broadly. That's a real consolation right now. God bless the Forrest familymay each of you find strength, acceptance, peace.

I am so sadden by the news of my lost friend/brother. So many great laughs and memories...Porter had unique way of making every interaction in life special. My heart goes out to Mom, Buffy, Tom, Bob, Patrick and the entire Forrest family.

So sad and so soon my friend, I will always remember the many good times we all had together. My deepest condolences to the Forrest family

Funny, thoughtful, sometimes so pensive, but always a gentleman. He was a kind and gentle soul who will be missed by so many. His family will be in our thoughts and prayers. Rest easy my friend.

It's impossible for me to reminisce about high school days at HHS without thinking of Porter and the rest of the dear Forrest family. Such an impactful part of the community! My heart goes out to you all. Praying for God's comfort as you rally to support each other during such a sad time.

I knew Porter for many years and my son is very good friends with Porter's nephews, Sean, Brett and Mickey. Porter was a good man and had a kind heart and lovely disposition. I was saddened by his passing

I haven't seen Porter since high school and yet this news has broke my heart. My memories are of an amazingly kind person who was so very special. My heart goes out to the Forrest family during this sad time.

It is always sad to hear of a classmates death. Porter will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. I'm so sorry for your families lost Mrs. Forrest.

Porter I'm at a loss for words, I can't believe the news of your passing. You're extremely kind, funny,caring personality is hard to come a crossed anymore. I loved playing jokes on you at the office, you always took a joke good. Every time I saw you I would come to call you back and I heard the famous words " oh my appointment isn't till next week" or " everything's great I don't need to be seen today, maybe next week?" I always knew you were a special person. May your soul rest in peace! Mrs. Forrest I'm so sorry for your loss I can't express in words how much my heart goes out to you. I am so deeply sorry.

After my 34 year connection with HHS, I always hate to get notification of a former student's passing. I remember the wonderful family and the fun smile and great spirit of a fine young man. My deepest condolences to the family. RIP. From Dick Baxter, HHS faculty.

I was so sorry to hear about Porter. He was such a good guy and friend to everyone. Porter was also blessed with that "Forrest sense of humor", so funny and great to be around. Please hold those memories close. I know your amazing family will help each other through this. Praying for you all.

My Life is better in having known him.. even though it's been many years since we have seen each other.. i am grateful we crossed each other's path.. I was so sorry to hear of Porter passing away. He was such a good friend and had a contagious smile. I will always remember the time we spent camping with Joe "Flea", and our time looking for gold. He will be greatly missed. He was a swell mug!!

I am sad to hear of James passing. We knew him as Porter, the young son of General Forrest at Ft. Carson. This was in the late seventies and our arts and crafts shop was down the hill from his residence. Forrest was a frequent friend as we helped him fix his bike and enjoyed his pleasant personality. I have thought about him some over the years and will never forget his outgoing heart. I still see those days with his picture that is posted here...and his smile (so big). My oldest son also passed away a few years ago and so I deeply relate to your loss. As I remember Porter I also want to thank you....this world is a better place because of the love and investment you have given to your dear son and brother. He reached that special place in my heart too.
