James A. "Jimmy" Teaney

James Teaney Obituary

James A. "Jimmy" Teaney, age 70, passed away October 12, 2005 at Pikes Peak Hospice following a lengthy battle with cancer. Jimmy was born December 20, 1934 in Moline, Illinois to Harry and Ida Teaney. He graduated from Pecos High School in Pecos, Texas in 1953. Following graduation, he helped his family run a local motel, Boulder Courts, in Pecos. Jimmy was always very proud to have been a life guard at what was then the only pool in Pecos. He later served in the United States Army for four years. Jimmy lived in Pecos for 54 years and married Trudy Herring in Pecos on August 13, 1977. He retired as an Instrument and Electrical Technician after having worked for 22 years in the West Texas oil & gas industry. Following retirement, Jimmy and Trudy moved to Colorado Springs in 1997. Jimmy was an avid gardener and an animal lover. He was also a devoted family man. He is survived by his wife, Trudy; son, Doug Luckett; daughter, Justine Herring; brother, Glen Teaney; and granddaughter, Courtney Luckett. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2005 at the Shrine of Remembrance. Visitation will be from noon to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2005 at the Shrine of Remembrance. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Jimmy's memory to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region. Jimmy will be remembered as a very giving, loving, and helpful person. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten by his family and friends. We love you Jimmy.

Dear Trudy and family..it goes without saying how much we loved Jimmy. I wish that we could be there for you like you have always been there for us. Just know that we are there in love and spirit. Jimmy was a great friend and we will miss him so much.
