I was so sorry to hear of Jan's passing...I met her in the 1970's, sailing in Costa Rica when I was a teenager, and spent many happy hours in her company and benefited greatly from her generosity- the first chord I ever managed to play was on her guitar, and the first time I ever got tubed while surfing was on her surfboard- both items she graciously allowed me to use when I had none...she was also very giving of her time and was someone I could count on to listen and offer advice without judgment, at a time when I sorely needed just that.

I lost touch with her for nearly thirty years, but when we finally got back in contact again it was like we had just spoken yesterday- there were none of the awkward silences one fears in those kinds of situations, and her recall of those times and the observations about me that she shared made it clear that she had always been paying very close attention and cared deeply about me and people in general...she was a true friend.

Jan was beautiful, funny, mischievous, and that perfect combination of sweet and tolerant, but no pushover...I will miss her greatly and feel truly blessed to have known her...my condolences to her husband and family.

I am so sorry to hear that Janet died. She was so young, and vibrant. I always enjoyed her presence. I found her a bright and creative soul with a passion for froggies. Her way of making a difference in this world. And I just realized that we have the same birthday of Nov. 16th, although I was born 2 years before her. I will miss her. My condolences to her family and close friends.

I still have the earrings Jan gave me as a gift when I left Commonwheel - I'll treasure them all the more knowing she is gone. Condolences to her family and many friends from the Greers.

I had the pleasure of being Jan's nurse when she was receiving chemotherapy. She had this wonderful and quirky sense of humor that she maintained even on her worst days. She wanted to offer encouragment and support to other patients so she brought her beloved little dog to the chemo suite for regular visits. I simply adored her. Much love to you Greg. I will miss her very much.

I will alway remember Jan as a warm, caring, creative artist, that I met years ago when I worked at Ackley's Rock Shop.
My sympathies to her family and friends.
May God comfort all of you at this time.
God Bless!
