Janice (Jan) Ann Geerts, 60, of Bismarck (Regent) North Dakota, passed away on February 17, 2022, after complications from covid related pneumonia.

Jan was born on August 25, 1961, to Herbert (Poppy) Rouse & Judith (Judy) Arlene Wetteland in Colorado Springs, Colorado. After graduating from Widefield High School in 1979, she went on to study business at Pikes Peak Community.

During high school and after graduation, she landed her first job as a nurse's aide for Norton's Nursing Home for several years until she joined the army in 1980.

On October 23, 1986, she married Paul Joseph Geerts going on to have three children, Matthew, Paul Jr. and Christina.

When Matthew was born, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother and grandmother. Jan excelled at propping up her family and supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. She made it her mission to improve the lives of others.

Jan was a very passionate person and always put 110% into everything she did. She worked many jobs, had many hobbies, and she knew how to make holidays special. She always filled her home with warmth, laughter, and kindness. Her favorite thing to do every summer was go to Medora, ND and see the musical. She was a wife, mom, nana, aunt, best friend, and much more to everyone who met her. Her life and world were her family especially her grandbabies, whom all miss her greatly.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Rouse & Judith Arlene Wetteland and her mother-in-law, Albina Eva Geerts. She is survived by her husband, Paul Joseph Geerts; her children, Matthew (Heather) Geerts, Paul Joseph (Ashley) Geerts Jr., and Christina Geerts; her grandchildren, Mackenzie, Maddison, Cheyanne, Elaina, Sydney, and Finley; and father-in-law, Frederick Joseph Geerts.

Memorial contributions may be made out to the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation or the American Cancer Society. The family requests that all condolences be sent to Paul Geerts 1616 Northview Ln, Bismarck, ND 58501.

A funeral will be held at the Enchanted Castle 607 Main St, Regent, ND, Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 11:00 AM MST. Burial will follow in the Regent Cemetery.
