Jason Mark Coahran Obituary

Jason was born in Long Beach, CA on Nov. 18, 1977. He peacefully passed from this life on July 6, 2016 at the age of 38 following a heroic battle against cancer.

Jason worked for Weatherford International and was a 1996 graduate of Mitchell High School. He loved football and music and has been a solo performer and a member of several bands since his early teens performing in Colorado Springs, Denver, and across the country. His greatest love was spending time with his family, and being a coach for his sons youth football team.

Jason is survived by his wife Kelly, daughter Kiera, sons Caimen and Cameron, mother Connie, father Mark, brothers Erik (Jamie) and Keith, and sister Nikki Kohlman (Justin), many nieces and nephews, and extended family across the country.

He was preceded in death by infant daughter Breken Mark-Ashley. A Celebration of Jason's life will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Woodmen Valley Chapel. A reception will follow at the Cow Bar & Grill at 5:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, a college fund has been established for Jason's three children. Memorial contributions can be made at any Wells Fargo bank to account 6986511860.

I didn't know Jason long but it was long enough to know that he always brought smiles when he entered a room. It wasn't possible to know Jason and not like him. His presence filled the room and the hearts of anyone who was lucky enough to be in that room. The world has lost so much in losing Jason but I will always think of him with a smile and a fondness reserved for few.

I was fortunate enough to know Jason through competing against him in youth football. He was an amazing coach and mentor to all his players and those that played against him.. He had amazing passion for the game and his players. I am proud to have known you Jason and you my friend will be missed dearly! My thoughts and prayers are with his family as they cherish his life. We met Jason while he was playing at Burke and Riley's in Breckenridge. We were instantly drawn to the sound of his beautiful voice. We quickly learned what a kind and generous man he was and that he was from Colorado Springs. We spent many hours following Jason to the many bars, sporting clubs and venues he played at. We became huge fans of his music. We will deeply miss Jason. His music has touched our souls unlike any other. He will never be forgotten. Our heartfelt condolences to the Coahran family.

I have never met any of you, in fact I really never even met Jason in person, but I am Corey Scott's mother and he is very saddened and hurting regarding Jason's death. I know from what Corey has told me and from reading his obituary that he was a Very Special, loving person. I am so very sorry for your loss and have been praying for you to find comfort and strength.

Jason was a beautiful and courageous husband, father, friend, and coach. Many of you who have been with us, remember how we started out as a group of misfit Ridgeview Huskies. Throughout our trials and tribulations as a team, we always had a winning record and we had a helleva lot of fun teaching these young men (and women) the game of football and how it relates to life. He loved being the "underdog". Jason, was the person who would bring everyone together while bringing out the best in everybody around him. It is because of him that we continue our journey as Jr. Wolves.

He was a very special part of our family, and it will be hard being on the football field without him, but I KNOW he is screaming with love at us from heaven to keep moving forward as a team. I can still feel him next to me chanting...

I believe in myself...
I believe in this team...
I believe we are champions...
GO HUSKIES!!!

Love you, Jason!

We were so sorry to hear of Jason's passing. He definitely touched our lives with his music when he was playing with my brother-in-law, Eric Cimino. My husband and I spent many nights at the Thirsty Parrot enjoying their music, but it was the small things like when Tricklife took the time to play at my niece's 7th or 8th birthday party, and when he took the time to look at and purchase my daughter's art work when she was in middle school that touched us the most. This was the kind of guy he was - taking the time to make others feel special - that will be what we remember. Your family and friends are in our prayers. We are praying for peace and light for all of you. We are rejoicing in the fact that Jason is finally free of pain and suffering. Blessings to you all.
