Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Smith Family know that we recently made a small donation to the EOD Warrior Foundation in honor of Jason T. Smith US Marine Sergeant. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.

This nation has always called upon its best and brightest and bravest to protect and support our ideals. Too often, the sacrifice is ultimate; we will never replace these mean and woman. We can only salute them, in tribute to and thanks for their service. To Sergeant Jason T. Smith's family, my deepest sympathies.

I will never forget walking into the barracks at Quantico, VA and meeting my first roommate outta MOS school, Jason Smith. He took me under his wing to show me around jumping in his black Acura and hitting the town. Jay was a good friend thru the years served there. He was always positive and great to be around. All the times fishing, mudding, BBQ's, field days, all the Motor T runs, cruising Manasas.. He will NEVER be forgotten. You are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless his family and loved ones. I posted pics on my facebook if anyone would like to see. Semper Fi! Matthew Cochell, former Sgt, USMC

To the Family of Sgt. Jason T. Smith
I wish I had the right words to say at this time, but I know there are none. I grieve for the loss of your beloved son and I know that I cannot fathom the pain you must be feeling. Your son will not be forgotten and what he did to help protect our homeland and our freedoms. It was his life that made him a Hero. It was his noble path that made him an American Hero. It was his ultimate sacrifice that made him a Fallen Hero. May God carry him to Heaven on His precious wings and give him a palace to live in. I pray that our Heavenly Father above will grace you with His love, His comfort and His peace. Heaven's Gates now has a new handsome Marine standing guard. Amen.

Father we entrust our brother Jason to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. Welcome him now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.
May God hold Jason in the palm of His hand. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My deepest sympathies.

Dear Smith family,
I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. I truly feel your loss and pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Jason will never be forgotten.
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
I salute you.

A SOLDIER HAD DIE OUT ON THE
BATTLEFIELD;
BROKEN HEARTS ARE WEEPING FOR
THEM,
BUT TAKE COMFORT OF KNOWING
THAT GOD HAD SENT THEM A
RAINBOW FROM HEAVEN;
THE SOULS OF THE SOLDIERS
HAVE GONE TO THERE HOME
IN HEAVEN,
OUR LOVED ONE'S HAS FOLLOW
GOD'S LOVELY RAINBOW IN THE

THAT LEADS ALL THE WAY TO THE
OTHER END OF THE LORD'S

A Letter from God To
The Family Of
Sgt Jason Smith
Dear Child of Mine,
I am the God of all comfort. I will hold you in my arms of compassion and sing you my song of grace.
I will touch the wounds within you, and in my perfect season, I will lift you from this place of pain.
But I want you to know that as I am healing you, I am also creating within you a healing ministry of your own.
For to be healed by me is to be made a healer.
You see, the very comfort that I am working into your broken heart through the power of my words, and the love of my people is meant to be recycled.
Someday when your heart has grown strong again, I will send someone into your life who is as broken as you are today.
And the compassion I am pouring into you now will flow from
you to that hurting soul.
You will know how to comfort him because you will have been where he is.
You will resonate with his pain.
You will reach into the depth of your own healing and love him back to life for Me. What a precious vessel you will be to Me then.
A vessel once humbled and hurt---and then healed to be healer! This is My Plan for you.
Love Forever, God
We are so sorry your Blue Star has turned to Gold
May God be with you at this most difficult time granting you peace and comfort

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to SGT. Jason T. Smith our Brother-in-Arms . To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Jason. And to Jason it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while opposing enemy forces in Afghanistan. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Jason, you are a brave American Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,335 military Legionnaire Veterans of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Jason’s family and loved ones.
