Jerome (Jerry) Leland Vess, 85, long time resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024. Born on February 16, 1939, in Ohio, Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Dolores G Vess; his three children; four stepchildren; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A talented and hardworking custom tile and flooring installer, Jery took great pride in his craft. Outside of his work, Jerry loved the outdoors and was an avid participant in a variety of outdoor activities. He enjoyed ski trips, camping, fishing, snowmobiling, and ATVing, always enjoying the time spent in nature.
Jerry's warmth, generosity, and sense of adventure touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known him.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

My sincere condolences. I was the renter for Dolores rental as Jerry would put it for three years. I remember often times going to drop off rent to their home on saddle rock drive and visiting over coffee or meals. Jerry being from Ohio and Moms family being from Ohio we had lots in common and him being a tile layer we talked lots about that as well. We had great talks. Sadly I lost touch with Jerry and Dolores over the years when I got remarried. I thought of them often and wish I would have reached back out to them. I even introduced my Mom to them and we all went to dinner. Great people and very loving and kind. I will miss them. Sorry for you loss. I literally called Jerry last night wanting to come see them funny how life is, Blessings to the family

Jerry has been our next door neighbor for many years. We were so blessed to have such a kind and welcoming man so close by. He always looked out for us and our dog. He even built a new gate for the side of our house at no charge. He was the kind of neighbor that everyone knew and brought us all together. He will be greatly missed. Our love and prayers to Dee and family.
