Joe Roybal Obituary
Joe honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War era, and received the Bronze Star. He worked at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs as a heating plant engineer for 30 years. He also worked in maintenance for 20 years with Wal-Mart in both Colorado Springs and Surprise.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife Shirley I. Roybal; son, Roger Roybal; daughter, Nedra Jenkins and husband Chris Jenkins; granddaughter, Ashley Sarikaya; grandson, Justin Jenkins; sisters, Lena DeHerrera, Susie Zamarripa and Tilly Gonzalez; many nieces and nephews; and canine family members, Pico and Hendrix.
Joe is preceded in death by both his parents and his three brothers, Fred, Lalo and George Roybal.
The Visitation will be from 5-8 PM, Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Surprise Funeral Care, 16063 W. Bell Rd., Surprise, AZ.
The Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, September 19 at Surprise Funeral Care, Surprise. Interment and Military Honors will be at 12:30 PM at the National Memorial Cemetery of AZ, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ.
A Reception to immediately follow at the Sun City Grand, Cimarron Center, Aqua Fria Room, 17100 W. Clearview Blvd., Surprise, AZ. Please visit Joe's online registry, www.surprisefuneralcare.com (623) 546-8002.

Been privileged to have Joe as a neighbor for the last several years. Always had a smile in spite of his arthritis and limited mobility. Most often an encouraging word when we were dealing with house issues or the pesky rabbits. This bronze star veteran was special to us and we will miss him.Our prayers to Shirley and the family at this time of new beginnings for Joe.
