Jonathan "JR" Stuart Riordan, the most amazing husband, father, son, brother, and friend, collapsed while playing basketball and passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 28, 2014. JR was 32 years old.
JR was born in Walnut Creek, CA, attended St. Agnes School in Concord, graduated from Concord High School, and earned a degree in Business Operations Management from Sacramento State University where he met the love of his life, Aimee Gillis. A short time later JR and Aimee were married and have since welcomed Reese Suzette Riordan (3) and Calvin Joseph Riordan (8 months) into the world.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 3966 Chestnut Ave., Concord. A burial service will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1965 Reliez Valley Rd, Lafayette. The family has requested that, instead of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice in memory of Jonathan "JR" Riordan.

I only knew you as the guy we sat next to at our beloved Dubs basketball games, but you were so filled with grace. You have been an inspiration to me all these years and I think of your beautiful soul often. It was a pleasure to know you and Aimee and to watch your family grow. It breaks my heart that you had to leave this world so soon. May your family always feel the love and grace of who you are. I know I will always try to be like you.

JR, You are by far one of my favorite people. I love you, Aimee and the kids so much. Your smile lit up the room and your personality was amazing. Nobody will ever forget your fancy dance moves =) Your memory will live in everyone that loves you, which is a LOT of people. Always in our hearts my sweet friend.
