Kara Crews Obituary

Kara Crews was born to Carl B. and Ann Crews on December 20, 1957, on a wintery night at Toul Air Force Base, Toul Rosières, France. Fortunately, she was a good traveler, living in France, Germany, Spain, Colorado, Hawaii, Alabama, Montana, South Dakota, Oklahoma, and California.

She attended Pine Valley Elementary (U.S.A.F. Academy); Alabama Middle Schools; Kaimuki Jr. High, Kalani High and St. Andrews Priory, Hawaii; and graduated from Ardmore, Oklahoma High School. The University of Montana in Missoula, and the University Great Falls were next, and then, in 2009, she received her Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.

Her summer work during college was at Glacier National Park, United States Forest Service in Montana. She served as an animal control officer at Rapid City, South Dakota, and loved taking home wolves, raccoons, and many orphaned critters who found a new and loving advocate.

From Rapid City she volunteered for the Air Force and served five years as an Administration Specialist at Edwards AFB, California. Moving to Colorado, Kara worked at Current, the USAF Academy Food Service, and Cadet Clothing Supply as a GS employee. Her move to Buckley AFB in Logistics as a GS-6 was next. She really liked her job, her bosses, and coworkers. Kara was a free spirit, and a Broncos fan, attending games at Mile High with her brother, Carl, Jr.

She leaves her family: her parents, Lt. Col. Carl B. (USAF, Ret.) and Ann Crews; and her brother, Carl, Jr. and his wife, Beth. She also leaves her three precious children, Kodi Wadginski, Jesse Pueschel, and Bonnie Pueschel, who were amazing to her and deeply loved; her uncle, Creede Speake of Milo, Oklahoma; her aunt, Ruth Murphey of Whitesboro, Texas; and nephews, Aaron (Olivia) Crews, Austin (Keli) Crews, and Andrew Crews.

A special thank you to Parker Adventist Hospital and Denver Hospice, where she died on November 1, 2016 of sepsis and a high-grade staph infection. Beautiful Kara had the best care from these healthcare professionals.

Kara now resides in the arms of the Lord in Heaven and will be missed by all her friends and family. She was a very caring person.

Memorial Service with Military Honors, 10:00AM, Friday, November 18, 2016 at Buckley Air Force Base Chapel, 16401 A Basin Avenue, Aurora, Colorado 80011, with a reception to follow. Aloha or Bronco attire is appropriate.

Her ashes will be scattered at a later date at her favorite Uncle Creede's Ranch in Oklahoma with the rest of the Crews clan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for Kara's children through the Kara Crews Memorial Fund, ENT Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 15819, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80935, or by calling 719-574-1100 to donate.
