Karen was a wonderful friend to our dog, Sienna, and she will be missed dearly as our vet. My son Collin who has known Huck since days at Kindercare was also very sad for Huck. God be with you all at this very difficult time.

Dear Brad and Huck: I was shocked and saddened to hear about Karen's untimely death. We had been out of town when her death occured. I have many wonderful memories of Karen. When we first met, you had just bought your practice and she learned she was pregnant just about the same time. She was amazingly kind when we lost Chacoe last Christmas. I will never forget her loving spirit. We now have a new, yellow lab named Sookie and were looking forward to a long relationship. I am so sorry for your loss and the loss of all of your patients and families.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To Karen's family:

My heart goes out to you at such a difficult time. Karen was a wonderful person. We didn't keep up very well after vet school but I still remember her radiant smile. I saw Karen a few months ago at the CVMA convention and had a chance to catch up. I remember thinking how happy she seemed which hopefully is of some comfort--knowing that she embraced life to the fullest. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with her entire family especially Brad & Huck.

I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear about your loss. I enjoyed watching as your family and business grew over the years. I remember walking into Eagle Point and hearing a bird and a cat making a lot of noise, Huck crying (probably only a few months old), and the phone ringing all at the same time. You both seemed to be smiling through it all! Karen was a gifted veterinarian blessed with an amazing family and career. She will be deeply missed.

Dear Brad, Huck, and family,
I'm sorry I haven't kept in touch very well since school, but you've come to mind occasionally, esp. when talking to Stacy or Eric. You two were always so much fun to hang out with - always uplifting. I can't begin to tell you how badly we feel for you and your family. I know that nothing I say can fix the problem or make you feel better for very long, but just wanted to let you know that we think the world of you and are praying for you.

Both human and animal hearts all over are breaking at this tragic loss. Karen was my rock through the loss of my first pet calico Sophie in 99, when they were still at Eagle Point. Her unconditional caring helped me through the greiving process, which made all the difference when my Dad died four years ago. We are grateful that Huck will always have so much of her in him, and all our love to Brad, Huck and the entire family. We were honored to know Karen, she touched so many lives. She always made time for our needs. We are here for anything you might need, as neighbors, as friends, as clients. All our love, the Oswalds - Caz, Jay and Kodi, Bob and Miss V.

I hope you can find comfort in your family in the time to come and know how much she was loved and respected by all whose lives she touched. Pets Cheyenne and Alex in heaven, Maya, Joey, and our new pets, Danny and Keeley, who Karen gave such wonderful care, send their love along with Lester, Katey, Christian, Elisabeth, and Julian Claudio. Brad, Huck & family,
I remember you & Karen from the time you purchased Eagle Point Veterinary Clinic. I loved going in there and enjoyed getting to know you both. I had the pleasure of helping Brad & Karen buy their first home as well as the one they have now. Huck was actually at the closing of their first home just two or three weeks old if I remember right. Karen took great care of our dogs and was so compassionate when two different times we had to put our dogs down. I think she and Brad became incredible business people and have been thrilled to watch how their business grew and prospers. I owe some of the decisions I made in my business to some conversations I had with them. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. May the memories you have be cherished and bring you comfort in the times ahead.
