Laverne Quintana Obituary

Verne Louise Quintana, 63 years young, departed this life February 17 after an 11-month courageous battle with cancer. Her strong Catholic faith helps guide her on her journey that has only just begun. A very special thank you to Nancy Belanger for bringing Jesus to LaVerne daily, along with the unforgettable singing. In LaVerne's past time, she enjoyed bowling, stamping, seek-n-find puzzles in the Gazette, bunko, crafting, piano, watching the Broncos, her undying love for pigs, and wearing her Bling Bling. LaVerne leaves behind to cherish her memory daughters: Antanori Quintana Rendon, Sunsirey Godsey; son: Herbert Anthony Quintana III; grand children: Arian Quintana, Ariell Maquez, Teresa Elam, Jeremy Elam; great-grandson (her young man:) Ezekiel Anthony Quintana; and very special friends: Kenneth and Jana Myers. LaVerne's faith, courage and determination taught all that were close to her the true meaning of life. All who knew LaVerne knew that she lived and stood by her motto: "Divine Inspiration of Love." Memorial mass will be held February 24, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 22 W. Kiowa, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. Thank you to LaVerne's dear friends Leedy, Kristi, Joe and Maria, Carmelita, Rosalie, and all others who provided support. Special thanks to Sandra and Rhonda from Odyssey Hospice, Dr. Young and staff. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in LaVerne's name to St. Joseph Hospital, Attention: Foundation, 1835 Franklin Street, Denver, CO 80218 or Odyssey Hospice, 4465 North Park, Colorado Springs, CO 80907.

Mom... it has been 1 month since you left me. I am so sad with out you! I have lost my mother my friend!!!! I know you are watching over me but I so miss you being here physically for me. You are right this is going to be a hard transition for me. Today was my first day back to work...and I could hear you telling me "Divine inspiration" and I gave it my all. I really miss your pep talks, but I try to hear you when things start to head a different direction on me. LOVE AND MISS YOU

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

For the laughter in my Daughter's eyes. For the kind heart of my Son. For my Sister and her Family. For my Brother and his Family. For my life with them all. For these things I am eternally grateful.

To The Family,
Find strength in God and each other.
For a moment, mourn her passing, but for life, celebrate the joy she brought into the lives of all who were blessed to know MOM.
Love Charles
