Lee Kirkpatrick Obituary

Lee Kirkpatrick, my beloved wife and the mother of our four beautiful children, passed away peacefully in the early morning of December 13th, 2005 after a vigilant battle with colon cancer. Words can't describe how much we miss her. Lee brought joy and happiness wherever she went. She touched so many people's lives with the love of Jesus. Her infectious laugh, her warm smile and her beautiful blue eyes would brighten any room. She's in Heaven now, where I believe Jesus is showing her the many ways He used her to affect the lives of so many. Lee was born to Ludwig and Margaret Beneke on November 23rd, 1963 in Glencoe, Minnesota. After graduating from the University of Minnesota, Lee moved to Southern California where we met and fell in love in 1987. We were married in March of 1990 and moved to Colorado Springs in the summer of 1991. Lee is survived by me, Rob Kirkpatrick; three sons: Rob II, Ben and Jack; and a daughter: Maggie. Her mother, Margaret Beneke, of Glencoe, MN, and four sisters also survive her: Doris, Mary, Ruth and Carol. Her father, who passed away when Lee was only 18 months old, precedes her in death. A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 15th, at Evergreen Cemetery. A public memorial celebration will be held at 2:00 p.m. that same day at Village Seven Presbyterian Church, 4050 Nonchalant Circle South, and will be immediately followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, I'd appreciate your consideration for our children. Until recently they were educated at home. Now, they attend the Evangelical Christian Academy, where memorial contributions can be sent to help with the costs of their continuing education. The address of the school is also 4050 Nonchalant Circle South, Colorado Springs, CO.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Lee was such an inspiration to me while I was in MOPS. What a loving, cheerful, and God-filled woman. It's going to be an awesome day when God calls the sleeping to awake and you'll be with her forever!

Dear Rob and children,

I am a good friend of Pam Lewis; she has been keeping me informed about your situation, and I have been diligently praying. My heart goes out to you and the children, especially during this season. I do not understand why the Lord allows things like this, but I do know that He loves us and is a good God. Our family has also had a difficult year; my husband had to have a lung removed because of cancer. Our prayer is that the Lord will continue to hold you in the everlasting arms as you walk through the grieving process.

A sister in Christ,

Rose Drew

Dear Rob & Family

We will always remember the way Lee bounced into a room as a vivacious teenager! You must have so many beatuiful memories of the beautful woman Lee had become. We can't even imagine what Christmas will be like for her in heaven this year...feasting at the table of our Lord and Savior as the choirs of angels sing His praises. Just imagine! You and your children are in our thoughts and prayers this blessed Christmas season.

To Lee's Family,

I am greatly saddened to learn of Lee's death. I first met Lee when we were 14 years old and freshmen at Glencoe High School. Even then Lee had a quality about her that made people want to be near her! I have so many fond memories of Lee, and will keep her family in my prayers.
