Lois Moeny Obituary
Lois was born September 17, 1922, in Blanca, Colorado to Luther and Georgia Bean. She graduated Alamosa High School and Adams State College with a teaching degree. She was an elementary educator in Alamosa, Durango, and Manitou Springs schools with an emphasis on reading instruction.
Lois married Eugene Moeny in 1944. In November, Lois and Gene celebrated 71 years together.
Lois was a member of First United Methodist Church and the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter EM.
Lois is survived by her husband, Gene; son, Don (Judy); daughter, Kay (Robert) Newth; sister, Hazel Petty; and brother, Kenneth Bean. Lois has 4 grandchildren and 2 great- granddaughters. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, February 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 420 North Nevada Ave., Colorado Springs, CO. A private Inurnment will be held at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Old Glory Columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Adams State University Foundation, P.E.O. Sisterhood-Chapter EM, or Optum Hospice of Colorado Springs.
