Margaret Nowlin Obituary

Margaret Nowlin, 58, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at a local hospital.  She was a phlebotomist, a wonderful wife, amazing mother, loving grandmother and beloved sister. 

 

Margaret A. Nowlin, born Margaret O'Donnell on April 19, 1958 in Evergreen Park, Illinois to the late Edward and Marion (O'Neill) O'Donnell. She was a 1976 graduate of Bogan High School in Chicago.  She worked in the Chicago area, then moved to Tucson, Arizona and in 1988, made her final move to Colorado Springs, where she wanted to "experience all four seasons".

 

She married, and raised a family soon out of high school.  Locally, she had worked for Penrose Hospital and the Asthma and Allergy Clinic in Colorado Springs.  She married George Allen Nowlin on Valentine's Day, 2000 in Cottonwood Springs, Colorado.  

 

She was a generous woman who loved her family, especially her grandchildren.  She had a big heart, had a wonderful sense of humor and was kind to everyone that she met.  She enjoyed reading, traveling, cooking, parties and reminiscing about life.  

 

She is survived by her husband, George; her sons: Patrick (and Bobbi) Vander Veen of Asheville, North Carolina; Adam (and Alyssa) Vander Veen of Phoenix, Arizona; her daughters: Jennifer (and Jason) Queen of Colorado Springs; Katie (and Justin) Mohr of Denver, Colorado.

 

She is also survived by her brothers: Edward (and Jennie) O'Donnell of Bridgeview, Illinois; Robert O'Donnell of Tucson, Arizona; her step daughter: Patricia (and John) Scott of Colorado Springs; her daughter in law: Amy Nowlin of Colorado Springs.  She has twelve grandchildren and one great granddaughter.   

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister: Marilyn O'Donnell; her stepson : Perry Nowlin.
