Marie Rose Tilley McClernan of Colorado Springs was born in Omaha, Nebraska with her twin sister, Margaret. They were the youngest of 10 children. Marie died at the age of 94. Marie graduated from Benson High School. She went on to attend Creighton University and graduated in 1949 with a degree in pharmacy. She was the only woman in her class. In 1957, she married Francis Joseph McClernan in Santa Monica, California and raised a family in Hollywood. In 1969, the family moved to Colorado Springs where she continued to work in pharmacy until 2000. Marie is preceded in death by her dear husband Frank McClernan; her parents Harry Harvey Tilley and Leopoldina Jenny Silvernail Tilley; her brothers Martin, Thomas, Joseph, James, Edward, and George; her sisters Dorothy, Martha, and Margaret. She is survived by her children Michael, Thomas, and Kathleen; and grandchildren Sarah, Sean, Mark, Vaughn, Paul, and Petra.
Marie was a kind, generous, cheerful, gentle, and wonderful Mom. She never complained and always told her children to "offer it up." She will be missed dearly.
A visitation and rosary will be held March 15, 2021, 6:00pm at Cappadona Funeral Home. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held March 16, 2021, 10:30am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, followed by a private interment at Evergreen Cemetery.
