Mark MacFarlane Obituary

MacFarlane
Mark Bryant MacFarlane
May 5, 2024

Mark was born in Wichita, Kansas. As an infant he, along with his mother Merline and Grandmother Eula Bryant moved to Colorado Springs where he lived the rest of his life.
Mark attended Wasson High School, graduating in 1969. He earned a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Northern Colorado in 1974 and went on to get his Master's at UCCS several years later.
While in High School Mark was an accomplished athlete, participating in both hockey and football. A fierce competitor on the field he was respected by friends and foe alike. He remained active throughout his life as a regular at the gym, playing pickle ball, country western dancing and an avid golfer. He had the unique distinction of making six hole-in-ones.
Marks active social life included many friends and acquaintances. His unique charm, wit, humor, personality and good looks drew people in.
Mark is survived by cousins, Rocky Whitworth, Rick Whitworth, Rebecca Anders and countless friends.

Mark was a special guy whom I am grateful to have known. I'm happy that I was able to show him around Vermont a few years back and to see him last fall on a trip to Colorado. He taught me to golf long ago and I will be forever grateful. He will be missed by many!
