Mary Christine Florek, also known as Christine Florek, passed away on August 16, 2025 peacefully at the age of 82. Born on January 7, 1943 in Passaic, NJ, Christine was the beloved daughter of the late Nicholas Sudeck and Marie Sudeck (Miskov), and younger sister of the late Sandra Lauber.

Growing up on Lake Tamarack, NJ, Christine loved to swim, ice skate, and fish. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1960 and pursued higher education at Cornell University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Later, she attended the University of Denver, earning a Master of Taxation Degree. Her career included work with Merck, Smith Kline French, McNeil, and Argus.

Christine met her spouse, Thomas Wayne Florek, at Cornell University in 1963 over coffee and ice skating. The couple married in Ithaca, NY on February 6, 1965. They lived and worked in the Philadelphia, PA area from 1965 until 1986. They built a beautiful home in Upper Bucks County in 1968, where Christine and Wayne raised their two children, David and Cynthia. As well as numerous dogs, cats, and ducks. In 1986, Christine and Wayne moved to Colorado, initially residing in Boulder County before settling in Colorado Springs.

Christine loved to see new places, experience new things, and enjoy new cuisine. She was an avid skier in Vermont and Colorado, sailed the Caribbean with Wayne, traveled extensively in Europe and North America, and explored much of Colorado. Her hobbies included photography, reading, and puzzles.

A dedicated mother and partner, she leaves behind a legacy of exploration, learning, and love for life. She is preceded in death by Nicholas Sudeck (father), Marie Sudeck (mother), and Sandra Lamber (sister). Christine is survived by T. Wayne Florek (husband), David W. Florek (son), Sean M. Florek (grandson), Cynthia D. Florek (daughter), and Rodney F. Taylor (son-in-law).

There will be no public services.
