Maureen Cote Obituary

Maureen (Mickey) Margaret Cote passed away on December16, 2010 at her home in Peyton, Colorado. She was born June 18, 1937 in Hartford, Conn to Thomas and Helen McNally. She married Donald Cote, her high school sweetheart, on January 14, 1947 in Hartford, Conn. She is survived by her husband of 53 years Donald Cote and her children Paul Cote, Michael Cote, Stephan (Connie) Cote, Denise Cote and Kristine (Gary) Williams. She had 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren that were a great joy in her life. As a long time member of Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church, she gave her time to helping people in need. Meals for the Home Bound, Hospitality Ministries, Eucharistic Ministries and Funeral Reception Coordinator were a few of the organization she devoted her time. An active member with the Black Forest AARP, Volunteered with the Department of Human Services, Distributed food for Black Forest Cares , Avondale Mission and Lunches for the Homeless. She also was involved with the Ladies Auxiliary for the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Rainbow FCRV Camping Club, and supported the Humane Society, PETA and ASPCA. During her lifetime she also was involved with the Air Force Wives Club, League of Woman Voters, Sunday school teacher and Cub Scout and Brownie Leader. Mickey was a very special person. A loving wife, mother, grandma and great grandma. She valued her friends and family and spent much time helping others in need. She enjoyed entertaining at home and through the years giving many friends and family great memories. She enjoyed traveling, was a talented artist/crafter always finding new ways to keep her husband busy.

Mickey was one of my favorite dental patients. I was saddened for her family when she left this mortal earth.

Uncle Don and family, It is so sad and heart breaking to loose a loved one, but to know Aunt Mickey is in the arms of her maker makes the loss a little less hurtful.
