Michael Reid Kemp, 29, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022.
Michael is survived by his parents, Bill and Suzy Kemp, his sister Abigail Dutro, her husband, Ian, and their son, Ashton. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents Bill and Louise Riddell. He was predeceased by his uncle, Michael Boyd Riddell, and his paternal grandparents, William and Margaret Kemp.
Michael was born on May 9, 1993, in Colorado Springs. A true Colorado Native, Michael loved the outdoors, especially hiking local trails or trout fishing at Rainbow Lake. Michael was also an avid skier. Many memories were made skiing powder days in the back bowls of Vail and patiently coaching other family members down less epic runs.
Growing up, Michael also enjoyed boating on Colorado lakes and along the North Carolina coast—never wearing enough sunscreen. He also received his black belt in Taekwondo, which suited his gentle yet protective spirit.
Music was another passion of Michael's. He captured hearts with his soulful piano melodies and brought countless smiles while jamming out on the guitar. He was also a practiced storyteller. Filling a room with laughter came naturally to him.
Michael loved spending time with his sister, Abigail, whether discussing plot lines of the MCU or debating the latest Star Wars film. Trips to Walt Disney World land among the most cherished memories with Michael for both his sister and mother, particularly the times riding Space Mountain or walking down Main Street.
Michael always built up and prioritized others. He was a loving son, a gallant brother, and a generous friend. He was the light in every room and loved by everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Michael drew strength from his faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ. His legacy of love and laughter will live on through those who were blessed to know his gentle soul and kind heart.
A service will be held on January 14, 2023, at Village Seven Presbyterian Church at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to SOS Outreach (www.sosoutreach.org) or Village Seven Presbyterian Church (www.v7pc.org) are appreciated.

There are no words anyone can say to ease the pain. Just know that life goes on and that Michael is still with you, just in another form. He will contact you to let you know he's OK in one way or another. Keep looking and you will see his message.
Lovingly, Bobbi
