On November 18, 2025, our family received the unexpected and heartbreaking news that our beloved Dad and Papa, Michael Robert Weis, left this world to be with our Lord and Savior.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Donna Weis; his brother, Chris; and his sister, Linda. He is survived by his brother, Monty; his sister, Becky (Blake) Davis; his daughters, Jennifer (Jim) Vetter and Melissa (Tom) Bever; and his six cherished grandchildren, Kristy, Camden, Tavin, Declan, Killian, and Reese.
Mike was born on August 27, 1950, in Fairmont, Minnesota, and later moved with his family to Colorado Springs, Colorado. He graduated from St. Mary's High School and worked as a plumber by trade, eventually owning and operating M.R. Weis Plumbing & Heating, a business he ran with pride for many years.
Mike loved spending time outdoors and with family. He enjoyed golfing with his boys, fishing, hiking, cutting wood in the mountains with his girls, and exploring nature with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed the dog park and the Manitou Penny Arcade with his granddaughter.
One of Mike's favorite ways to unwind was movie night, complete with plenty of snacks, especially "goomie" bears, peanut M&M's, fresh popcorn, and an ice-cold Coke or Kool-Aid with WAY too much sugar. His favorite movies were old westerns, especially those starring John Wayne.
Mike loved people, life, and God. His smile was contagious, and he always had a kind word to lift others up. He had a gift for sensing when someone needed encouragement and was always just a phone call away.
Later in life, Mike became a Carmelite with Holy Apostles Church in Colorado Springs, one of his greatest honors. He served faithfully for many years.
He would want us to celebrate his life with joy, knowing he is now in heaven with God.
