Miriam Klingensmith Obituary

Klingensmith
Miriam Mercedes
Klingensmith
January 23, 1931
March 3, 2026

Miriam Klingensmith passed into the loving arms of her Holy Father on March 3, 2026. She was a resident of Hemsley House at University Park in Colorado Springs.
Miriam was born on January 23, 1931, in Pittsburg PA, to Clement and Veronica Limbacher, the third of four siblings. She spent her youth in Pittsburgh until she married her husband, Robert J. Klingensmith, Jr., on August 16, 1950. They traveled together to many Air Force locations before they settled in Colorado Springs in 1965. Bob and Miriam raised nine children prior to her husband's passing in 2007. In 2019, Miriam moved to Sunrise Assisted Living at University Park, now Hemsley House. Hemsley's staff affectionally referred to her as "Mrs. K."
Her children would like to offer the following prayer:
Heavenly Father, we are thankful for a mother whose steadfast faith in Catholic beliefs cultivated a long-lasting marriage. Thankful that her religious convictions, which she instilled in each of her children, provided the strong foundation for our family. Lord, we are gratified for a mother that emphasized honesty and fairness in outcomes as family virtues. Grateful for her demeanor of unwavering truthfulness and the equal treatment of others - "all are equal in God's eyes." Also, Lord, we are appreciative for a mother ready to follow Jesus' example of self-sacrifice by elevating others' needs above her own. Grateful of her response to our continual requests with "In a minute" instead of "No" despite her many overwhelming responsibilities. Thank you, God, for such a wonderful loving mother.
Miriam is survived by her nine children: Lynn and her husband, Michael; Kathy and her husband, Don; Mike and his wife, Brenda; Mark; Richard; David; Joe and his wife, Melissa; Tom and his wife, Jodi; and Nancy; and her sister, Lucille Broadberry. Miriam also had 19 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Miriam survived her husband, Bob, to whom she had been married for 57 years; her parents; her brother, Mike Limbacher; and sister, Ronnie Campbell; her tenth child Phillip, who passed at birth; and her grandson, David Gebhardt.
In lieu of flowers, if you would kindly choose to honor her memory with a gift, please contribute to your favorite charity, Wounded Warriors, or to Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 4925 N. Carefree Circle, Colorado Springs, CO 80917.
Mrs. K., along with her family, remain most grateful for the love expressed by caregivers and friends at Hemsley House, Abode Hospice, and Comfort Keepers Home Care.
Thank you, Mom, for your endless sacrifices to ensure the well-being of your family. Our Heavenly Father abundantly blessed us with your life's work. You are indeed Forever Loved.
