Nancy Ard Obituary

Nancy Z. Ard, our mother, our friend, our mentor, passed away on January 31, 2015. Born in North Carolina, she grew up in the in the Smoky Mountains and on the beaches of Miami, Florida. At age 19, she married her one great love, Ellsworth, and they moved to the deserts of Arizona to raise their two daughters. In a time when women were expected to stay home and raise a family, Nancy went to work as a payroll and human resources supervisor for hospitals in the Phoenix area. She moved to Colorado in 2004 to be with family.

Nancy was defined by her love of family, her fearlessness, her strength, and her determination. She lived life on her own terms. She instilled those qualities in her daughters, Jane and Ella, her son-in-law, Davis, and her grandchildren, Quentin and Sharon. Her family will strive to pass those qualities on to her great grandchildren, Star and Emma.

A celebration of Nancy and her life will be held Saturday, February 14, 1 PM, at All Souls Unitarian Church, 730 N. Tejon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region.

Jane and Davis
I didn't know your Mother, but she sounds like she was a keeper - one of us strong broads. I wish I had met her.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, but we are looking forward to the day that John 5:25 will come true for those we lost and loved.
