Ollie was my good friend. When we met I was an officer in Fairifeld, TX and he was city judge. He mentored me for a few years, and later proposed I Ieave employment as a bedroom community sergeant near Houston, to go to work for him. But I did not. Ollie was a great role model, such an intelligent man with a wonderful value system. Eddie was a beautiful and gracious woman. The world is worse off for his loss.

I don't think a day goes by when I don't think of Ollie and remember the last lunch we shared together. He was so frail but still determined to work the cases. In the end, I was sent his Ramsey case files. I am trying to treat them with the same respect he gave them and still working the case for both of us.

Ollie will be remembered by me as a true Gentle Giant and Gentleman. His kindness, drive for truth and strength he could somehow share with others made him a truly great man who will be missed by many.

Ollie was the best of the best when it came to all areas of his life. I remember the first time I met him in my office. It was a cold rainy November day. He came in with ideas and solutions to a very big problem for me. What was clear is he had a soul and believed in right and wrong.. We worked together for the next two years on that problem. Since then 1996 he and I spoke often and did many things for work and became friends. He loved his family so very much and one talk about them often.
I callled a little much at times Eddie can verify that but he was one person I could count on.
