I THOUGHT OF YOU WITH LOVE TODAY,
BUT THAT IS NOTHING NEW.
I THOUGHT ABOUT YOU YESTERDAY,
AND THE DAYS BEFORE THAT TOO.

I THINK OF YOU IN SILENCE,
I OFTEN SPEAK YOUR NAME.
ALL I HAVE ARE MEMORIES AND YOUR PICTURE IN A FRAME.

YOUR MEMORY IS MY KEEPSAKE,
WITH WHICH I'LL NEVER PART.
GOD HAS YOU IN HIS KEEPING,
I HAVE YOU IN MY HEART.

Many times we needed you,
Many times we've cried.
If love could have saved you,
You never would have died.
It hurts so much to loose you,
But you did not go alone.
For part of me went with you,
The day God called you home.
He saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be.
He closed his arms around you,
And whispered "come to me."
For all that you went through,
He saw you needed rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
For he only picks the best.
I love yoy and miss you and will see you in heaven, tell mamaw Hi

A bowl of chicken soup will never be the same. I'm so happy we shared a special bowl the last time we dined. As I sit here tonight with my bowl in front of me, I look to the heavens where we agreed to meet again.
The miles between us were many
The conversations were far to few
I felt in my heart when I met you
that God had sent a special angel in you.
I had prayed that Mom would find that special prince that would keep her safe and secure.
Treat her as the princess that she so deserved.
The man would have to love children
Cause with Mom came many. My beautiful young siblings that would need love and caring.
You were the prince. I would have been proud to have called you DAD.

My memories of you.

We married October 15, 1965, had 3 wonderful children. Monica(Miller) was born in 1966 (we lost her twin and shed many tears together over that loss) Monica had 3 boys and a girl. She now owns a business and is a foster mother to 7 children and a grand mother to a sweet little boy.
Lonnie (Mekis) was born in 1968 and has 2 boys and a girl. He owns his own business and is very successful.
Our youngest Bianca (Mekis) was born 1977, she has 2 boys. She is a Pharmacy Teck with Walgreens. We have 3 children to be proud of. I spent 19 of the 20 years you were in the military as your wife.
We had many good years, I saw you through Viet Nam and there you brought my brother home to be buried. I remember the good times, many while stationed in Germany. I was there when you first met the brother you didn't know you had that lived and still lives in Austria, what a reunion that was.
A few years ago I made my piece with you and I am so glad or I wouldn't have led the good life I lead now.
MAY YOU REST IN PIECE.
