Patrica A. (O'Donnell) Smith was born on March 10, 1949, and passed away on October 28th 2023. She was the second of three children born to John and Rosemary O'Donnell of Ellsworth, Kansas. She attended schools in Ellsworth and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas in 1971. She taught for two years in Kansas, moving to Colorado in 1973. There she met and married her husband of forty-five years, Dale T. Smith (deceased) in 1974. Pat and Dale quickly became dedicated to Palmer Lake and to its people. Pat continued her teaching and library careers amid other job pursuits until retirement in 2007 after 31 years with Lewis-Palmer School District in Monument, CO.
Pat enjoyed reading, writing, puzzles of all kinds, board and card games and spending time with friends and family. Dale and Pat had two sons, Sean and Jason. She is survived by Sean Smith of Fort Collins, Colorado and Jason Smith of Lakewood, Colorado.
A Memorial Mass with be held on 10:00 am Friday, November 3rd at St. Peter Catholic Church, and a reception will take place after the mass.
A Private inurnment will take place at Monument, Cemetery Cremation Garden.
