Patricia Hamilton Obituary

Patricia (Harris) Hamilton passed peacefully on August 30, 2011, at the age of 64 after a valiant four-year fight with cancer. Pat's faith was an inspiration to us all. Pat was born to Rose Nell and Floyd Bradley Harris on March 14, 1947, in Edinburg, Texas. She graduated from Manitou High School in 1965. Pat worked as an office manager at Supperstein Steel and later Reliance Metal Center until 2010. She married Chuck Hamilton in 1988. Her father and her husband preceded her in death. Pat enjoyed her mountain home in Divide and the caring community of Highland Lakes. She liked to crochet. She loved to make baby blankets for her friends and family and hats for cancer patients. She and Chuck shared their passion for watching sports and dearly loved their dogs. Her loving family will forever remember Pat's courage, strength, and kind heart. Family was most important to her and she always put others before herself. Pat leaves behind; her dear mother Rose Nell Harris; brother Johnny Harris and his wife Judy; nieces and nephew Angela Vaitkus, Allison Toomey, April Harris, and John Harris; step-daughter Julie Lee; and their respective families. A celebration of Pat's life will be held at 2pm, Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Highland Lakes Community Building, 276 Deep Lake Circle, Divide, CO 80814. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Pat's name to support breast cancer prevention, treatment, and research through: Susan G. Komen of Southeastern Colorado, c/o Peace for Pat, 625 N Cascade Ave #110, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.

My Dearest Pat,
My mom has the fondest memories of working with you at Supperstein Steel and Reliance Metal Center. I was just a little girl when I first met you and I thought it was so cool that you that you and I shared the same birthday. 28 years later and I am still honored to share a special day with you. I will never forget your smile and the sparkle in your eyes. Thank you so much for being such a wonderful friend to my Mom, Darlene. I know you are in heaven...peaceful, no more pain and smiling and that does our hearts good. I will meet up with you again someday. All My Love,
Sharon Walker

It doesn't seem like very long ago that three kids were out on the farm just north of Edinburg, Texas playing on the old tractors and equipment in the sheds there. We spent many hours playing like those old tractors were planes, cars or trucks taking us to anywhere we could think of.
Life has a way of moving way too fast, and by the time we realize how fast it moves it's too late to spend the time togather that we should have.
Pat and my Pat talked a lot in the last two years as they both battled the terrible illness that afflicted them both. I hope that Pat got as much help from the shared time as we did. I wish there could have been more time, but God knows best, and he has something else for Pat to do for Him in heaven. Although we will miss her now we will see her again in a few days at that great reunion over there.
We love you all. May God bless and keep you. Jim ans Pat Wilkins

Pat was one of the kindest people I have ever met. She always had a smile for everyone even when she was so sick. I only wish I could spent more time with her. She will be dearly missed.
