Patsy Jeanne Williams (nee Barteck), aged 84, passed away peacefully in her home in Colorado Springs, CO on December 21, 2024 following a battle with cancer that started in October. She was born on May 13, 1940 in Milwaukee, WI to Marvin and Harriet Barteck. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Kenneth E. Williams. Patsy is survived by her daughters, Laurel Lockwood Chapman (Mark) of Leawood, KS, Lynnette Lockwood Gallegos (Rick) of Parker, CO, her twin sister, Nancy Barteck Christian (Richard) of Menomonee Falls, WI, and her five beloved grandchildren.
Growing up, Patsy was an accomplished pianist and was involved with her church as a youth ambassador. She graduated from North Central College in Naperville, IL in 1962, marrying her college sweetheart, Phillip Lockwood. They divorced in 1971, after which she met Kenneth E. Williams at a Parents without Partners meeting and fell in love. They married on Nov, 4, 1972. They enjoyed 50+ years together before Ken passed away in July '23.
Patsy worked for the Air Force Civil Service for 36 years in both NORAD and Air Force Space Command where she served as a Branch Chief in Intelligence and retired as a GS13 in 2005.
Anyone who knew Patsy, knew that she was deeply involved in her church, Central United Methodist, where she was a member since 1975. She served in many leadership roles both in the local church and at the district level. She enjoyed being a part of the choir for decades and serving the community through her church.
Patsy enjoyed attending the symphony, concerts, theatre and traveling. She and Ken traveled both in the U.S. and abroad a total of 86 times, collecting many wonderful memories in their "golden years". They moved to Aspen Trail Retirement Resort in Jan 2021 and embraced the new friendships made there. Patsy was an avid Bingo player, enjoyed fitness classes, and her philosophy group there.
A celebration of life is planned at Central United Methodist Church in Colo. Springs on Friday Jan. 10th with visitation at 9:30am and the service at 10:30am. Donations in Patsy's memory may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 4373 Galley Rd, Colo. Springs, CO 80915.
