Paul Crosby Carver aged 74 of Monument, CO, passed away to the full reality of the Kingdom of Heaven May 24, 2021 in Colorado Springs, CO.

Paul was born April 21, 1947 to Paul and Marceta (Trask) Carver in Kansas City, MO where he lived on a farm. He grew up in Colorado Springs, CO and graduated high school in Monument, CO. Paul (aka Corky and Crosby) was an exceptional athlete competing in both football and basketball in high school.

He married and had two children Paul David Carver, and Christie Anne (Carver) Winckler.

He lived in Colorado most of his life and loved to make people laugh. His sense of humor, quick wit and puns gave much laughter to the world. He valued friendship and considered friends to be like family.

Paul had the ability to learn anything and succeeded at everything he tried. He found a special talent and enjoyment in excavation and heavy equipment operations.

He was outstanding and skilled in operating heavy equipment and was asked for by name as a result. Through the years he mastered cranes, cement trucks, backhoes, loaders, graders, dozers, semi-trucks (including over-sized), and many other types of heavy equipment and large machines. In his younger years he worked for Aircraft Mechanics working on ejection seats and then at Airstream doing maintenance on Airstream trailers. He was also a brick mason and landscaper. He worked for Jefferson County School district in maintenance. At one point he started and ran his own business called CDC Backhoe (named for his two children). He was a mechanic and loved working on cars. He dabbled in modeling and voiceovers. He also worked as a security guard in Costa Mesa Calif. He managed a Radio Shack and loved little electronic gadgets.

He was an excellent boatsman and spent a few years living on his 30-foot Sea Ray boat in Pueblo and he lived on a 53-foot Trawler in California and Captained it for his friend Jim. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved the water. His motorcycle gave him great joy and he would take it out with friends and family for short and long trips. He did some drag racing as a hobby. He rebuilt engines for fun and spent quality time with his children teaching them everything he knew about cars.

He had a passion for music. He played the trumpet and guitar and loved listening to music.

In his most recent years he grew fond of watching NASCAR races for entertainment and was an avid weather watcher.

Paul is survived by his two children Paul (David) Carver of Tampa, FL and Christie Winckler of Pomona, NY, two grandchildren Christopher Winckler of Taos, NM, Michael Winckler of Denver, CO, a great grandson Seth Martinez of Rapid City, SD, his girlfriend Kathy Shepler of Monument, CO, two sisters Irl Deane Cheatham of Elk City, OK and Joyce and Earl Boykin of Crosby, TX, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Marceta Carver, brother-in-law Larry Cheatham, cousin Allen Trask and son-in-law Barry Winckler.

A memorial service and celebration of Paul's life was held by close family and friends on Monday May 31. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made to the Nascar foundation, or another charity in honor of him.
