Robert Eugene Carlile, 88, of Colorado Springs entered eternal life on Thursday, Nov 10th 2022. Bob was born Aug 15, 1934 in Scottsburg, IN. He graduated Purdue University in 1956 and moved to Houston, TX, to work for Allen-Bradley Company and serve in the U.S. Army Reserve Signal Corps. There he met the love of his life, Lynn Mahan; they married Aug 18, 1962. To their union three children were born-James, Elizabeth and Andrew. After Houston, they moved to Birmingham, AL then Atlanta, GA where he retired. In 1994 Bob and Lynn moved to Colorado Springs and became active members of Grace Episcopal Church. A member of Rotary International throughout his professional career, he served as President of Garden of the Gods Rotary Club. Bob held leadership positions in every church where he was a member. He always found time to enjoy his family, from summer travel to leading Boy Scouts, to Scottish Games. Bob and Lynn were married for 58 years. They enjoyed gourmet clubs, Pikes Peak Jazz and Swing Society and were founding members of a local Martini Club. Bob is survived by his children: James Carlile (Kristin)Birmingham, AL; Elizabeth Briggs (David)High Point, NC; Andrew Carlile (Sarah)Monument, CO; six grandchildren: Olivia Carlile, Jackson Carlile; Katherine Christie, Victoria Christie; Amelia Carlile, Cameron Carlile; and his sister, Patricia Perkins of Westfield, IN. Bob was preceded in death by his wife Lynn, parents James and Alma Carlile, brother Samuel (Sam) Carlile. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Bob's memory to Grace and St. Stephens Episcopal Church,601 N. Tejon St., Colo Spgs, CO 80903. A memorial Service is being planned for a future date at the church.
