Robert Meisenheimer Obituary

Robert D. Meisenheimer, born March 13, 1943, died June 17, 2012. Known to family and friends as Bob, he was raised on a farm near Leoti, KS. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. Bob joined the U.S. Army in 1966. While in the Army, he traveled the world, including tours in Germany and VietNam. He was awarded the Bronze Star and served in the 7th Special Forces, Airborne. He retired at the rank of major in 1986. After retiring from the Army, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service for many years until the progression of Parkinsons disease forced his retirement. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lee Micha Meisenheimer, son; Paul Meisenheimer, daughter; Amy (Jackie) Sampsel; grandsons, Lucas and Jasper Sampsel, and Harper Meisenheimer; mother, Marguerite Goering Meisenheimer; sisters: Carole (Dave) Utermark and Jean (Richard) Reeves and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Dwain Meisenheimer. Funeral service will be held at Memorial Gardens, Friday, June 22, 2012 @ 10 a.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in his name to Parkinson's Foundation, 1359 Broadway, suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
