Robert Alan Smith, 68, entered the presence of the Lord Jesus on July 5, 2025 after a brief battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was born in Newton, Kansas on August 25, 1956 to John and Elda Smith, he was the fourth of six siblings. The family moved to Colorado Springs in 1967 and he attended the Cheyenne Mountain school district graduating from Cheyenne Mountain High school in 1975. After high school he began his career learning the trade of plumbing and heating obtaining his master plumber license.
Rob was a man of faith that loved God and all of His beautiful creation. He enjoyed hiking and camping in the Colorado mountains along with hunting, fishing, skiing and jet skiing. He enjoyed traveling and was always ready for a new adventure. His first adventure as a teenager was spending several weeks working in Brazil on a missions trip. Later, he and his wife enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Alaska and a dream come true visit to the Holy Land of Israel. Rob was a humble, honest and dependable man that was patient and kind and had a gentle and quiet spirit. He was a loving husband to Claudia, his wife of 41 years who survives him to cherish his memory. He was a loving brother to Doug (Marilyn), Dave, deceased (Kathi), Joyce (Tim), Tim (Debbie), and Lori (Jack). He dearly loved all of his nephews and nieces and they brought him much joy.
A celebration of life will be held at Restoration Church on August 25. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the missions ministry at Restoration Church of Colorado Springs.
