ROBERT "BOB" HERBERT WATERS
November 28,1926 April 4, 2023
From a young age, Bob had a passion for airplanes and aviation, which motivated him to attend Army Air Force pilot training at Niagara University. During WWII he was an aviation cadet and served in the U.S. Air Corps until his honorable discharge in 1945.
He graduated from Clarkson University in 1951 with a B.S in Mechanical Engineering, before becoming a registered Professional Engineer (PE). Bob's love for nature and mountains brought him to Woodland Park, CO in 1964, where he lived for 51 years. He was an avid pilot, was active in land development, custom home building, as well as chairman of the Woodland Park Planning Commission. In 1989, Bob married Nancy Voorhees and spent 19 wonderful years traveling the world together until her passing in 2008. We really enjoyed the times when my sister Donna and Bob would drive that Subaru from Colorado to visit. We have a large living room with
scene lighting. Bob was complimentary of the extravagance, but asked "where do you read?" I pointed to a corner in the room with a love seat, foot stool, and an old style floor lamp. Bob grinned and said " that looks good!" HE enjoyed the reading spot every day for a few hours and I can still see him sitting there.
