Wow-Can't believe he left the family almost 11 years ago. Time really does march on...I'll never forget, and still have the wonderful letter he wrote to me when my father passed. Such a way with words....Wish I could have spent more time with him..

We spent many enjoyable fishing hours with Rod and at the same time being serenaded! Such an earthly life time privilege.

Dear
Stover Family,
I was greatly shocked to hear of Rod's untimely death. Our family was
close to him during his time in Sunspot, NM, where we lived, and in
Colorado Springs, where we visited. You may recall my sons Chris and
Craig, my first wife Jan and my current wife Sally. We will all miss
him. The best I can say was that he was a great guy and a good friend.
God bless you.

Thank you all for your kind and loving words. It is comforting to read about how my dad connected with you in your lives. It makes me smile to know how many people he made laugh! I was so blessed to have him in my life and experience his journey with him. How do you define success? I believe it is the achievement of Joy and the absolute loving and embracement of who you are. We are all perfect, eternal, expressions of creation. Radiant beings we are! My dad was in that joy and was truly aligned with who he really was. Tell your loved ones now that you love them with all your might! I was able to do that with my dad these last few years and I am so grateful. Don't wait another minute!
Love, blessings and infinite Abundance to all of you.

My sympathy to the family of Rod. I am one of the "Poole School Alumni" having attended grade school there. Rodney was a year ahead of me. My memory of Rodney was his great smile and being a really outstanding student there and at Ravenna High School. Todd, I hope you remember me as your 8th grade teacher in Poole!

I am so sad that my dear Uncle Rod has gone to be with Jesus... not sad for his sake but for my own! I really loved him! I loved the brother he was to my father and the joy that he brought into my life! He made me smile! I miss his silly mustache that he had in the good ole' days! What an amazing thought that I will see him again... singing with Angels and dancing on streets of gold!

Dear Stover Family
My sympathies to all of you.
Rod’s wit, zeal, love of music, and, yes, his sarcasm will endure in my
memory. I remember our family's visits with him in Sunspot and Colorado Springs.
Once when Rod came to Prescott, he visited our courthouse square while
square dancing was going on. He spent the rest of the visit singing
"Hee Haw, we're happy tonight!" His visit to Prescott in 2000 along
with Kim and Todd was special, and I know their Aunt Ellen really
appreciated it!
I have enjoyed his sharing of family photos by email. It has been good to have those photos and memories to keep usconnected. I appreciated hearing of the experiences and memories, since I was on the younger end of the first cousins.
At my mom's funeral a soloist sang "In times like these, we need a
Savior, In times like these, we need an anchor." I pray that all who
mourn are well anchored and have a trusting faith in Jesus.
Love, Kris (Ingerson) Foster

Rod was a first cousin and we grew up in the same area...he at Poole and me at Sweetwater. We spent lots of time together as kids, in high school, and at Hastings College. So there are many memories. One of my favorite memories of Rod is a recent one..at a gathering at his great place by Kearney, he taught some of my grandchildren to fish. They loved it, and so did he. We will miss his presence.

Rod and I worked together for several years, rewriting programs for personal property in the Assessors Office. He was a true friend. I am so sorry for your loss. Rod and I had many good times and he was always so funny. He will truly be missed. He always had time to listen to other peoples problems and by the end of the conversation you would be laughing.

I worked with Rod in Data Processing (later IT) for El Paso County. Met him the day he started there and wished him well at his going away party years later. Shared an office with him for a few years. Hard worker. He was really smart and good at analysis, design, and programming.
He had such a wonderful voice. Sometimes we would be at our desks working and he would start singing a few bars of a song. Really brightened up the day. My wife would sometimes come to our office (Rod & mine) so we could go to lunch. If Rod was at his desk, she would often get a few bars of “Good Night Irene” as a greeting. Rod and his barber shop group sang several times at the county around Christmas.
I won’t go into detail on some of the funny things he did. Just let it be said that he left me, and others almost rolling on the floor with laughter numerous times. Wonderful sense of humor.
I’m so sorry to hear about Rod’s death. My sympathies to his family. Rod was one of a kind. He will be missed.

I spent many hours with Rod as the lead in one of the many Barbershop Quartets he was part of in Colorado Springs. Rod was a great BASS. I also spent some very good times fishing the waters in Colorado with Rod and his many fishing friends. My prayers are with his family and friends during these times of sadness. We will all miss Rod dearly.

I worked across the hall in the County Bldg. in Colorado Springs from Rod. He was always a joker and a super guy. I left Colorado in 2001 when I retired from Facilities Management in the County and now live in North Carolina. I offer my sincere sympathies to Rod's family.

I am one of Rod's fishing buddies in Colorado Springs. I wasn't pleased when Rod moved back to Nebraska, depriving us of his presence on our numerous fishing trips, but I fully understood why he chose to return to his roots and settle down with Connie. We fishermen were delighted that Rod and Connie could participate in the surprise birthday party for Mike Fatiuk, held streamside on the Tarryall River last November. They both seemed so healthy and happy. Rod was one of my favorite people---always a joy to be around. Always surprising us with his mischief and wonderful way of viewing the world. We miss you, Rod. Much love to you, Connie, and your extended family.

I'm sorry to hear of Rod's death. He had a wonderful voice and he was definitely a clown at times. El Paso County IT wasn't the same after he retired! God's peace and blessings to all of his family.

My sympathies to Rod's family. I knew Rod as a great bass with the barbershop chorus in Colorado Springs many years ago. I dropped out to help my son get his Eagle award, but every time i'd see Rod he'd remember me and always made me feel like he wanted to sing with me again. He was a great guy and I'll miss him.
