Roy Conopask Obituary

Royden (Roy) Conopask touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He passed away on April 7, 2015 after a long battle with chronic health issues.

He was born on April 5, 1943 in Bristol, Connecticut to Linford C. and Helen (Zinkewich) Conopask. He was a Vietnam veteran who received a Purple Heart for injuries sustained in combat. Roy retired from the Fort Carson Fire Department at the rank of Captain.

Roy is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda; stepdaughter Robin Widmar; sister Joan Osenkowski and her husband Walter of Bristol, Connecticut; three nieces; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Roy's name to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or an animal welfare organization of the giver's choice.

Services will be at Dove Witt Family Mortuary 6630 S. US Hwy 85/87, Fountain: Visitation is Monday, April 13, 6:00-8:00 pm; and Memorial Service Tuesday, April 14, at 1:00 pm.

Rest In Peace Brother Roy. I was a Driver / Engineer for Roy at the Crash Station at Fort Carson Fire Dept. in the early 1990's, and I will forever remember those times. I Thank You for your leadership, wisdom and most of all, friendship.
