I was recently going through some old boxes and came across a heartfelt birthday card from Sandy, sent not long after I had moved from Skidaway Island Presbyterian Church in Savannah to Bentwood Trail Presbyterian in Dallas.
She had written:
"When I first heard you preach, I felt that God has especially blessed you in this area of your ministry. Your love of God and His 'flock' and God's love for you is so special. Bill and I will miss you so much, but we know it's time. We will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers."
Bill and Sandy remain two of my most treasured memories from Skidaway Island—always cheerful, always kind, always supportive. They were rare gems during one of the most meaningful and challenging callings of my life: parish ministry. Through all of life’s joys and struggles, they stood as those rare friends and mentors who affirmed who I am and what God has called me to do.
Though I left parish ministry over 15 years ago to serve in nonprofit work, I carry deep gratitude for Bill and Sandy’s love, encouragement, and the way their support helped shape my journey to where I am today.

Sandy was a dear lady of faith, so kind and gentle. We were blessed to have her at SIPC. We will be praying for you Bill and your family. And also rejoicing that Sandy is now at home with the Lord and free of all earthly cares.

Sandy & Bill were leaders and loved ones in the Skidaway Island Presbyterian Church and we still miss them! Sandy was one of those "quiet Angels" helping anyone in need quietly and effectively.

Sandy was such a lovely person, and that was a lovely obituary. I was blessed to know her, and will be praying for Amy, Russ, Bill, Jane and the rest of her friends and family who will miss her.

I am so sorry but thankful that my dear friend Sandy is at home above with the dear Lord! She and I were friends from fourth grade to college. One sweet wonderful friend and woman! I will never forget! Blessings and much love to all her family.

I am so sorry for your family's loss. Just knowing Amy made it obvious what a special person Mrs. Trice was and how much she was loved by everyone who knew her.

I'm very sorry for your loss and I know we can feel down and I wanted to give you a scripture that can give us comfort. It's found at psalms 9:9
