Shirley Chilensky Obituary

Shirley J. (Teel-Pruitt) Chilensky, 71, of Colorado Springs, passed away of Cancer November 24, 2009. She was born October 7, 1938 in Colorado. Shirley was an avid gardener and loved to share the fruits of her garden. She proudly served her country as a Military wife and a Civil Servant retiring from NORAD to care for her husband David. Happily married in 1992, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband David T Chilensky in 2002. In addition, her son Albert (Bill) Pruitt passed away only two weeks prior in a tragic accident on November 10, 2009. Her death was also preceded by her parents, Wyonna and Otis Teel; and her only sibling, Albert Teel. Survivors include her son, Donald (wife Betty) Pruitt; her daughter, Deborah (ex-Alan) Scott; her grandchildren: Michelle, Catherine, Albert, Cassandra, Ashley, Wayne, Meghan, Jennifer, Billy; and her two great grandchildren. Don, Betty and Ashley Pruitt always lived close by to Shirley throughout her life and cared for her during her illness keeping her at home, happy and comfortable. A visitation will be held on Monday, November 30, 2009 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful� Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at the Shrine of Remembrance. Private entombment at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum.
