I just wanted to add a quick comment here how about Shirley and Hank. Two more wonderful people One could never find. I trust that Shirley is in the arms of Jesus. It is where I hope to be one day soon myself. I wish the very best for the join your family. In love, Jim& Polly

Dear Hank, Jim and I are so sorry to hear this news. We have been out of town pretty much of the summer. Our love to you and your family always. Shirley was a sweet lady who was the first to make Jim and me feel welcome in Colorado. We will miss seeing her. Please keep in touch and call when you are ready for company.

Shirley and I hadn't seen one another for years, but the time hasn't dimmed her memory. We were kids together, spent time together, grew up together and had lots of fun together. I know her presence will be sorely missed by family and friends. Her smile and laugh brightened the day. My deepest sympathies to the family.

Shirley and I didn't get to spend a lot of time together but when we did it was a laugh a minute. Like someone else said, we could pick up a conversation like we had never been apart. I will miss my cousin so much. My heart and love go out to Hank, Aunt Velma, Larry, Erik and Sheri, Bryan and Staci, Jake, and the beloved grandchildren.

Please accept my deepest sympathy at your time of loss. I considered Shirley a friend and enjoyed lots of good times with her.
My mother, Ruby Thomson, was so fond of Velma. They worked together in the Cascade and Chipita Park Grade schools. May God bless you and hold you tightly during this time of loss.

I was saddened hear of Shirley's passing.
It was such a pleasure to know her as she was always so caring and had a happy smile to share. She will be missed.

I only came to Manitou High in my senior year, so I did not know Shirley well at all, but I do remember her. My deepest sympathy and prayers to Shirley's friends and family... it's evident she was loved very much and will be so very dearly missed.

Shirley was the sister I never had. We were 5 months apart in age and lived within 2 blocks of each other until we graduated. In the 3rd grade my mom made us yellow and white dresses and we played a duet on the piano. We were called the "kissing cousins". I miss her so much. The service and reception were very well done. Sherri and Staci you did a great job! Shirley came to CA for classes and we managed to spend time together. We always made each laugh until we cried. I have so many wonderful memories of our family time. Her sons Erik and Brian are great young men and made excellent choices in their wives. Her grandchildren are very smart,polite and caring. I am proud to be in this family. She had a wonderful husband in Hank. He dedicated the last couple of months to taking care of her every need. Hank thank you for being there for her. His sons and their families are very blessed to have him. Aunt Velma told him that he is still her son in law and will always be. Thanks to everyone that came to her service our family really appreciated it.

I will miss my dearest friend Shirley very much...Phyllis, Shirley and I were the closest of friends and no matter how long we were apart we always picked up right where we left off. I will miss our special monthly outings. I do know that Shirley loved you all so very much - Velma, her mother and best friend, Hank her loving husband, Erik and Brian her proudest and most loved accomplishments, Kayla, Ryan and Logan the joys of her life, Sheri and Staci, the most loving caring daughters she could ever have. I absolutely know Shirley is in heaven and making sure she saves a place for each and every one of us. Until then, FAREWELL my DEAR FRIEND.

My condolences to every member of Shirley's family. Even in high school I always thought knowing Shirley was special. She was a fun person to be with & an easy person to talked with. Loved her sense of humor. The last time we saw each other was about ten years ago at Territory Days. Shirley will always hold a special place in all of our hearts.

Dear Family and Friends, Though I haven't seen or been in contact with Shirley since an early reunion, I do remember her and treasure my memories. She was always friendly and fun to be with. Her obituary was beautiful as she. May you all find peace and comfort in your memories and know God's mercy and grace as you heal.

I have not seen nor spoken to Shirley since we were in high school, but I do remember that she was a sweet, fun person to be around.

Hank - My thoughts and prayers are sincerely with you during this difficult time. I have such good memories of being around Shirley and you. Remember when the 2 of you, Anita Bates and myself went to Denver to see Alan Jackson in concert? Was such a fun time and then I went with you again when my classmate friend from SD came for a visit, and I surprised her by taking her to see Alan Jackson for her birthday. Shirley, like myself, Anita and my classmate friend were and are such fans of AJ.
She is at peace now, no more pain and I know she will be smiling down and watching those grandchildren grow up. Hugs and Prayers,

I haven't seen Shirley since our graduation in 1968, and was saddened to her of her passing. My heart goes out to all her family and classmates who will miss her. May God ease your pain and confort you during the days to come.

Hank.... I cannot express my thoughts well enough to let you know how much we loved Shirley. She had touched us in a way that few people have and founded an eternal friendship. What a beautiful picture of Shirley. We didn't work together long time but the time we did have was a wonderful experience for me. She was truely an amazing person. I was extremely saddened to hear of Shiley's struggle with cancer and sent flowers immediately.Unfortunately they were delivered too late.I have always had
