Stan Capps Obituary

Our beloved husband and father joined his heavenly father on Feb. 15th, 2010. Stan was born in Dewitt, Ark. to Roland Capps and Mary L.(Capps)McCallum May 4th, 1944. Stan graduated from Manitou High School and served proudly in the U.S. Navy. Stan married Joyce in Dec, 1970. He was a family man and proud of his heritage. He quickly fell in love with Joyce's family and called them his own. When he wasn't working hard to provide for his family, he loved going camping with them. Stan loved taking road trips with Joyce to see the country and to keep the loving bond they shared for 39 years alive. Some of his hobbies included big game hunting, fishing, camping, reading, sports (GO BRONCOS), and collecting keepsakes. Stan was a member, and Past President of the F.O.E. #143. Stan is survived by his wife Joyce, sons Chris and Shaun, mother Mary McCallum, sisters Carol and Steve, Marilyn and Tom, and Kathy. Joyce's family include her parents Bob (grandpa) and Lorraine (grandma) Turner, brothers Doug and Valita, Gary and Debbie J., Joel and Jenifer, Jeff and Debbie Turner. He was also survived by Aunts and Uncles and Nieces and Nephews. Stan was preceded in death by his father, Roland Capps and brother Milton G. Capps. He is also survived by his best friend Sig Pencis. Stan has touched and influenced everyone he has ever been around, he will be missed by many. "I love you more, you are my sunshine". " I love ya Dad". "I love you pops". Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, February 19, 2010 at Blunt Mortuary 2229 W. Colorado Ave. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80904. Whenever I was stuck on the graveyard shift as manager at RC dairy, I always looked forward to the sound of Stan's clattering diesel bread truck coming through the gate at four in the morning (we left the gate open expressly for him). I knew that the 10 minutes I spent visiting with him while he delivered our bread order were the most enjoyable 10 minutes of my night. A better man cannot be found, I will miss him greatly. All the best to you on your new route, Stanley!!

Joyce,Chris, Shaun & family,
Words can never express the fond memories I have of working 27 years with and being a friend of a guy a nice as Stan. He was like a big brother to me. Our long hours at work were made easier because of his laugh, jokes and his "loving" stories of his family. I'll miss him more than you'll ever know. Until we meet again. Ron
Joyce, I too thought Stan was just a wonderful guy. Always took the time to go out of his way and stop and say hi and talk with me. I'll miss him too. Kath
May he rest in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

To Joyce, Chris, Shaun and family I worked with Stan for 10 years my best memories of Stan were how proud he was of his family. There was not a day go by he did not say Joyce, Chris or Shain's name, he was very much a family man and loved each of you very much. Stan was hard worker and took care of his family. He was always kind to me and encouraged me not to let that job get to me, he was always there to help. I moved to Georgia but I will never foget my friends in Colorado Springs, I will miss Stan but I know God will take care of him.
