Much-loved daughter and sister, Teresa Elaine Hickling was born the night of 13 July 1987 at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. We first saw her on Tuesday morning and the adoption was completed that Friday, 17 July 1987. After a wonderful but medically challenging life, Teresa passed away the morning of 2 June 2022 in Memorial Hospital of Colorado Springs, Colorado from complications with anemia and Sturge-Weber Syndrome.

While growing up as a Military BRAT and special needs child, Teresa lived in Biloxi, Mississippi, San Antonio, Texas and Colorado Springs, Colorado. Teresa could not talk, only walked with assistance, and could not do many of the things that other people take for granted every day, but she was a sweet, cuddly girl that loved to "dance" with the folks that knew her and give many hugs & kisses.

Teresa leaves behind her parents, Carol A Hickling and Carl L Hickling of Colorado Springs and her brother Travis J Hickling, plus her many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Special thanks to the Common Roots team and to Teresa's host home provider, Trenesha Livingston, to whom the family owes a debt of appreciation for the tender care provided to Teresa in her final months.

As an organ, eye, and tissue donor, the Hickling family would like to acknowledge that Teresa gave the most precious gift anyone could give; the gift to save the lives of her fellow humans. Please answer if called by the Donor Alliance of Colorado!

As the disabled daughter of an American military veteran, Teresa's final resting place will be with her parents at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA.
