Thomas Tatum Obituary

Thomas Lloyd Tatum, 54, long time resident of Peyton, Colorado, passed away Oct. 5, 2011 at Penrose Main Hospital. Tom was born June 21st, 1957 in Fort Lewis, Washington to his parents James and Kiyo Tatum. Tom was a loving and caring man that served his community for over 20 years. Whether it was work, a local school event, or a holiday, Tom touched every single life that he came into contact with. Tom worked for the Community Partnership for Child Development for 17 wonderful years, and he loved every single day. Tom always said that if he could touch one life, one family, that he would be happy going to work everyday. Tom did that each day, starting as a teacher with Head Start and ending as the Transportation Supervisor at CPCD. Tom spent 25 wonderful years with his wife Debra (Denson) Tatum, creating their home and family in Peyton, Colorado. Tom is survived by his wife, Debra Tatum, his father James Tatum, his sisters Glenda Derry and Patti Phelps, and his three children Kiyo Greene (Andrew), Christopher Tatum (Rachel), and Gregory Tatum, as well as many extended family members. The celebration of Tom's life will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 13885 Bradshaw Rd in the Gymnasium of Peyton High School at 10:00 am with a luncheon to follow. Flowers may also be sent to this address for the celebration. We ask that all guests wear Broncos gear or Harley Davidson to honor Tom's life and who he was. For any questions contact Teresa Greene at (719)749-2866.

Dear Tatum Family, I am sorry for the loss of an amazing man.
I worked with Tom for a short time but during that time I always admired and respected him. I spent every oppurtunity in his office talking football and family. I am sorry I missed the oppurtunity to say goodbye, however I will always have fond memories of Tom (The greatest gift to children and families). Thank You for sharing him with CPCD all these years. May God Bless Your Family with strength and love,
Molly Rohane
