In loving memory of Timothy Patrick Pogar
September 15, 1994-March 2, 2025
Timothy Patrick Pogar, known affectionately as Tim or Timmy to his loved ones, lived a life that was a radiant beacon of joy, inspiration, and purpose. Born on September 15, 1994, in Colorado Springs, CO, Timmy's journey began in the heart of the Rockies. With his adventurous spirit and limitless energy, he grew into a man of remarkable character, creating a seemingly infinite ripple of kindness until his passing. Tim's light burned out on March 2, 2025 at the young age of 30. He is proceeded into eternity by his late grandparents Ernestine and John Pogar, and his aunt, Markita Anaya.
Through his formative years, Timmy was nurtured by the love and guidance of his parents, Patrick and Julie Pogar, alongside his younger siblings, Luke, Mariah, and Isabella. The close knit Pogar family shared warmth, laughter, and affection throughout Tim's childhood, which only encouraged him to spread this love further.
His academic brilliance bloomed as he excelled at William J. Palmer High School in Colorado Springs, graduating with IB honors, a testament to his intelligence and dedication. Timmy's commitment to excellence was not just scholastic; he also was a proud member of the National Honor Society and Masque and Sandal.
The University of Puget Sound was where Timmy's talents and passions were further refined. He earned a B.A. in Political Theory with a minor in Mathematics, and his leadership qualities blossomed as he took on roles such as Human Resources Assistant, Delta Phi Chapter President of Sigma Chi Fraternity, National Residence Hall Honorary President, ASUPS Honor Court Chair, and recipient of the University Leadership Award.
Tim's professional journey at Amazon as a Senior Program Manager focusing on Employee and Disability Services was marked by his passionate drive and his advocacy for inclusivity. He was a harmonious force in the workplace, and his enthusiasm for music and the arts found its expression through his involvement with the Seattle Men's Chorus and the Amazon Symphony Orchestra.
Music resonated through Timmy's soul, a passion that began in church choir and evolved into a multifaceted love affair with sound. Tim became a resource to those who had the gift of collaborating musically with him. He developed his passion in bands throughout elementary, middle, and high school. He explored leadership within the musical realm when he became Drum Major at Palmer HS and expanded his horizons by acting in school musicals. Tim shared his talent and joy in whatever musical environment he was in. He became a staple in the EDM scene, connecting with others through the beats and rhythms of his DJ sets and effervescent dance moves. His ability to unite people through music, whether by directing a band or choir, playing an instrument, or leading the dance floor, was nothing short of magical.
A fervent supporter of local sports, Timmy's presence was a staple at Kraken, Sounders, and Seahawks games, where he shared his infectious enthusiasm with friends and family. His love for travel took him across continents, from Europe to the Czech Republic, from Australia to Costa Rica, sharing his warmth and zest for life with people from all walks of life.
Timmy's generous heart and his drive for philanthropy and humanitarian relief were the essence of his being. He was a champion for justice and a caretaker of his community, always striving to make the world a better place for all. Friends and family can attest to the profound impact he made through his actions and the love he poured into every endeavor.
In the tapestry of life, Timmy's thread was a vibrant one, weaving patterns of hope, courage, and compassion. His legacy is not merely in the memories he leaves behind but, in the inspiration, he ignites in each of us to seize every day, to act with kindness, and to cherish every melody of life.
Timothy Patrick Pogar's story is a symphony of love, leadership, and legacy. As we honor his life, let us carry the baton of his untamable spirit, harmonizing with the melody he composed, with the actions we take and the lives we touch. Though his physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit dances on, guiding us to live with the same exuberance and passion that defined his remarkable journey.
Funeral will be held at Shove Chapel, 1010 N Nevade Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903, Rosary: 9:15am, Requiem Mass: 10:00am, Burial and Reception to follow. March 31, 2025.

Tim became my friend at the University of Puget Sound where I have worked for 20+ years. Because of his IT knowledge (any my ineptitude) while working for the IT department as a student, he became a regular and a welcome visitor to my office. Despite being 30 years older, during those visits he and I became friends and bonded over over our common interests, namely our love and participation in music ensembles and our shared bonds of brotherhood through Sigma Chi, which I was member of as a student at Puget Sound as well. He was always kind, patient and just so darn friendly that it was impossible not to be drawn to the flame of his personality. He was one of those rare students I got to know and dearly missed after they graduated and moved on to their future. I was heart-broken to learn of his passing this past weekend at Summer Reunion Weekend at which the 75th anniversary of the Delta Phi chapter of Sigma Chi was celebrated. Many talked about how meaningful their friendship with Tim was. I am praying for his family as they grieve this difficult loss for us all.
