Ursula L. Kahkoska, 91, of Colorado Springs, passed away on December 7, 2024. Born on March 29, 1933, in Rostock, Germany, Ursula married James C. Kahkoska on April 25, 1953, in Annweiler am Trifels, West Germany. They shared 61 years of marriage until Jim's passing in 2014. Ursula is survived by her children Evelyn Olson and James (Jill) Kahkoska and grandchildren, Ryan Olson, Anna Kahkoska, and Jessica Kahkoska.
Ursula had a passion for travel, music, and the outdoors. She was equally happy in the mountains or at the beach, with a special fondness for the fall season in Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. Ursula's happiest moments were spent with her toes in the sand and her feet in the water. She was also an avid hiker and cross-country skier, participating in a weekly hiking group for decades.
Ursula was a core member of the Swimmin' Women, a group that swam at Prospect Lake Beach for decades. During the hot summer months, she and her friends would reliably be found at the picnic table on the southwest corner of the beach.
Ursula's love of nature, adventure, and a good Kaffee und Kuchen will be missed by all who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held next year.

So sorry for your loss. She will be missed. We were neighbors on Silver Drive from 1989 until she sold her home.

My sincere sympathy to her family. Ursula and I met several years ago as we lived in the same retirement community, and I enjoyed our many interesting visits, often near the warming fireplace in the Mackenzie Place living room. I always admired how regularly she walked the property grounds even though she usually used her canes for assistance. She was a wonderful, strong woman. God Bless.
