William Haskell Obituary

William Michael "Mike" Haskell, a resident of Colorado Springs for 16 years, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Mike was born on June 12, 1952 in Visalia, California to Donald and Dorothy (McGlasson) Haskell. He graduated from Redwood High School in Visalia, California in 1969. He then attended the College of the Sequoias in Visalia, as well as California State University, Fresno and graduated in 1975. He worked for JC Penney as Merchandise Manager from 1979 to 1982. On July 30, 1983, he married the love of his life, Judy Klewer, in Sacramento, California. Mike worked for various banking institutions from 1986 to 1997 holding positions from Systems Analyst to VP/Chief Information Officer. From 1997 to 2011 he worked as a Software Engineer for General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, ITT Systems, and others. He then worked for ERA Shields Real Estate beginning in April of 2011 as a Broker Associate. His hobbies included woodworking, guitar-building, landscaping and gardening, and cooking. He also volunteered for many local organizations and had recently been appointed Board Member for Habitat for Humanity. He is survived by his wife, Judy Kay Haskell; his son, Nathan Michael Haskell; his sister, Donna Daulton; his dogs, Argos and Cooper Haskell; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel with a reception following the services at Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard across the street from the funeral home.
