LT. COL. WILLIAM "BILL" RECK, USAF (RET.)

Lt. Col. USAF (Retired) William (Bill) Reck passed away on July 13, 2018. He was 96 years old.
After graduating from Flushing High School, Long Island, NY in 1940, Bill enrolled in the Engineering Associate program at Bell Telephone Laboratory in New York City. When the War broke out, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps. He was a B-24 bomber pilot throughout the remaining war years.
After World War II, Bill returned to Bell Telephone Laboratory. He continued his education and training until he was re-called to active duty to participate in the Berlin Airlift. He remained on active duty in the U. S. Air Force for 32 years.
He served in various Command and Staff positions in commun-ications and air traffic control functions in the United States, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Korea.
Bill is survived by his wife, Rena; his three sons and their wives, Robert (B.S.E.) and Anita, Gary (O.D.) and Kym, Steven (D.D.S.) and Diane (D.D.S.); 6 grandchildren, Lindsey (P.A.), Tiffany, Logan, Chase, Kristi (D.M.D.), Cyndi (M.B.S.); and his brother, Walter (B.S.).
Visitation will be held at Swan Law Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M Thursday, July 19 and the burial services will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
