I feel the world is a sadder place without the wonderful Yaela. I can never forget her strength, beauty, humility, talent, honesty and generosity to so many. She will be dearly missed and her spirit will remain with me forever. She has touched so many lives in her incredible journey. May she rest in peace and may her wonderful family be blessed.

Naomi and I send our condolences to Yaela's family. She was always an inspiration through her great artistry and a wonderful, warm human being. Knowing her primarily through KlezKanada, we cannot imagine it without her.

I am Mickie Silverman's daughter, Ava. I have been trying to contact you and learned of this sad news. I am so sorry. We are cousins and I have many family photographs that I would like to share. I hope we can talk soon.

I did not have the privilege of knowing Yaela personally but I have been blessed to view the impact she had on her students lives, personally and professionally. Someones such as Yaela, even from the beyond, will always remain an integral part of their lives.

Yaëla was an amazing teacher and a true Musician. It was a privilege to be on stage with her and learn from her! A page of Canada's musical history is turning with her passing. May she rest in Peace and celestial Harmony!

While I did not know Yaela personally, I did enjoy her music through her association with the McGill Chamber Orchestra and the late Dale Bartlett. Her music is her legacy to the world.
My thoughts and prayers are with Dahna and family.

Yaela had a profound and far-reaching impact on our life, during the too short a time that we've had the privilege to know her and to be close to her. Her dignity, wisdom, understanding of the human soul and mind, the love she had and expressed for her students, and mostly her pure, passionate love of music, these all continue to live on in us.
Yaela's soulful, whole, beautiful singing sound, expressing far more than words can form, will continue to resonate in the world for years and years to come, with her students playing it on their instruments. So Yaela is no more with us but she continues to live within every single one of us, with her unparalleled contribution to our lives. Yaela's voice and inner sound will continue to resonate and reach to people the way she had always wanted and knew best, through music, with the expressive playing of her students.
Whenever our daughter, Yael'a student, plays and will be playing her violin, we hear and will be hearing Yaela's beautiful, impeccable, infinitely rich and soulful sound of music.
