Willa was born on December 29, 1926 in San Diego, California to James Morris Whitley and Carrie Gail Duer. She attended Berkeley and the Catholic school for the Blind in Oakland, California. Willa enjoyed knitting.
She is survived by her sister; Gail E. Whitley-Rogers, brother; Jerald Whitley, and niece; Sandra Gail Sheilds.

Willa was just one of 9 children 7 boys & 2 girls. she had 25 nieces and nephews.
Many grand & great grand nieces and nephews
We were raised in Carlsbad Ca. Most of our life's
She never had any children.
When she was 9 years old she lost all eye site. And was sent to Berkley Ca. school for the blind
There she learned how to read and write braille and knitting, crochet, her hands were and are her eyes. She could remember things so well like all her phone numbers. I miss her much, love you Willa. Only 2 of us left out of 9. Frank Jerold ( Jerry ) 89 years old , and me Gail Eleanor Whitley, Rogers, 95 and pushin.
