Bill was born on May 31, 1934, in Masonville, NY. As a child, with his family, Bill relocated to Norwich. He was a 1953 graduate of Norwich High School. On April 12, 1958, in St. Bartholomew’s Church, Bill married Rosemarie Bernardi. When Bill was discharged, they lived in southern California for six years before returning to the Norwich area. In California, Bill earned his associates degree. For over forty years, Bill worked for Victory Markets and Great American Food Stores as the manager of the Oxford Store until his retirement.

Bill enjoyed golfing and bowling – which he won many awards for. He was proud of his Military service and spent his retirement on cruises with his wife. Bill also volunteered for “Our Daily Bread” for many years.

Bill is survived by his son, Andrew Fisher, of Natural Bridge, NY; grandchildren, Ryan Fisher, of Michigan, Brice Fisher, of Natural Bridge, NY, Elizabeth Adams (Timothy Marsh), of Missouri, Amanda Lindsey, Missouri; and great-grandchildren, Jordan, Brice, Marie, Gavin, Alayna, Bradley, Jacob, and Toby; sister, Julie, of Arizona; sibling-in-laws, Anna Turner, of Eaton, Antoinette Natoli, of Sherburne, and Steve Bernardi and his wife, Leslie, of Norwich. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Bill was predeceased by his loving wife, Rosemarie Fisher, on August 30, 2016; mother, Mildred (Linder) Fisher, sister, Ethel Howman; brother, Richard Fisher; and sister-in-law, Camilla Leggiero.

The family wishes to acknowledge Bill’s friends and neighbors who have looked after him while he could stay in his own home. Gratitude is also given to Hospice for the care and support given to Bill and his family during the last four months. A memorial Mass for Bill will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, at St. Bartholomew’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
