Alice Heedt Obituary

Alice Josephine Heedt of Colorado Springs, CO passed away on December 29, 2015 at the age of 52. Alice was born on October 21, 1963 in Fort Bragg, NC where her father, SGM Fred Heedt served in the U. S. Army.

Alice graduated from Bennett Hill Academy in 1982, and soon after moved to Southern California, where she lived for twenty years. She is survived by her mother, Geraldine Heedt, sisters Judy Diehl and Mary Robbins, brothers, Fred, Mike and Dennis Heedt: as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces.

She is preceded in death by her father Fred Heedt Sr. and her sister, Cathy Wallace.

Alice was an inspiration to her family and friends and will be remembered for her courage and sense of humor.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with a rosary at 5:30 pm at Swan Lawn Chapel, 501 N. Cascade Ave., Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80909.

A memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 10:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3122 Poinsettia Dr., Colorado Springs, CO, 80907, with reception to follow.

Alice was amazing. She always had time for you and was so sweet and gracious. She was one of my first good friends in CA. I loved her and realize now I spoke with her after her birthday last October and a couple of times after that for a few minutes. Alice always cared and had a heart of gold. I will miss her a lot as I do the many others who left me this past decade. I can vouch she is in the Best of company!!! Miss you & love always to AL.

Alice was so much fun to be with!Being the one who came up with her nickname "moose",I had no idea that would carry over for all these years! It only did because she was SO POPULAR! She was a true joy at Holy Trinity, back in the mid to late 70's,and then a true good friend to visit in Costa Mesa,CA in the recent years. What a pleasant delight it was to discover she had moved to Southern Cal,right about the time I did!And even more amazing that we found each other while here in California! Only God can orchestrate something like this! And a true blessing in my life, she always was!To me,and to my wife Elsa,as well!We shall miss her terribly, and I'll REALLY miss that outrageous laugh!!But,we rejoice all-the-more that she is with Jesus Christ now!And no longer in any pain nor confusion! I dilute and love you deeply and dearly,Alice!RIP

I'm deeply saddened to have lost such a great person/friend! She was always so positive even though her health said otherwise. She was a fighter to the enth degree, a huge heart, pen pal and an inspiration to many! May she rest peacefully. And to her surviving family, should you need anything that you yourselves cannot achieve, please be sure to contact me!! I'd be honored to help in any fashion!! Sincerely, Ron

My dear cousins and Aunt Geraldine: I'm sitting here with my mom, enjoying the photos of Alice and feeling the sorrow of your loss, as we remember my brother Wally, who, like Alice, was mischievous, hilarious, and taken too soon. Our hearts share in your grief, and hope your memories help you through this time of sadness.

We bless Alice and cherish her memory; our condolences and prayers are with her mother and family. The gifts Alice generously gave to so many as she journeyed in life are treasures that many of us received. Her families of Benet Hill Academy and Benet Hill Monastery are personally grateful for the life of Alice and her kindness, self-giving, and generosity. Let us always remember that Alice is now wherever we are.
