Angie Bell

May 18, 1974

September 5, 2021

Angie Bell, a Colorado Springs resident and mental health counselor, died unexpectedly due to complications from COVID, at the age of 47. Angie is survived by her mother Susan Bell Smith and stepfather Ken Smith of Sun City West, AZ, and Colorado Springs; her brother Alexander Bell and his children Madison, Morgan and Macy Bell of Fort Collins; her aunt Patty Howley and cousin Kaitlin (Nick) Barrett of Colorado Springs; her aunt Penny (Gary) Streich, and cousin Michael (Jessica) Streich; her cousin Michael Risinger, also of Colorado Springs; her step-sister Stacy (Bill) Austin and nephew Grayson, of Bainbridge Island, WA.

Angie is predeceased by her father, Ray Bell.

Angie graduated from Air Academy High School. She received a B.A. from UCCS (1997) and a M.A. in Community Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado (2003). She owned Angie Bell Counseling, LLC.

Angie was devoted to her family and friends. She dearly loved and advocated for her nieces Maddie, Morgan and Macy Bell. Angie was a compassionate friend to many, problem-solver, and counselor who took on troubled clients, many of whom were military veterans suffering from PTSD. She was also involved with the State Domestic Violence Summits. She was an animal lover and leaves behind her beloved dog Dublin and cat Netiryi, both of whom were rescue pets. Dublin served as her right hand as he "worked" with her in the office and provided comfort to her many clients during their counseling sessions. Because of Angie's love of animals, her family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region to help provide care for local animals in need. I´m just now going back to therapy. Everyone says they are glad to see I´m making that step. After a decade of knowing you it´s a hard to find someone that holds a candle to you. You´d be so proud of what I´ve accomplished

I´m so sorry to happen upon the sad news about Angie while looking for my cousin´s obit info. Sue & Patty are good friends from many years ago. Angie´s bright eyes & beautiful smile are what I think of when she was just a little girl, the last time I saw her. I pray for all who knew & loved Angie. Obviously, she will be missed by many - for a very long time!

Angie helped me A LOT over the past few years. She was truly one of a kind and I don't think I ever clicked with a therapist like I did with her. Losing her was like losing a dear friend. Truly saddened for her friends and family, and the many people she helped throughout her career. She was a very wonderful lady, I will miss her very much.

Angie was my therapist, and even though I only knew her a few short months, she helped me drastically. She was always so welcoming and kind. I can never thank her enough for what she has done for me, and I´m going to miss seeing her. The world has lost a wonderful human being. My condolences to her family.

I am so very sorry to hear of Angie's passing. She was my therapist and truly saved my life. I met her at the darkest time of my life and she provided so much warmth and light. I loved the times she would laugh so hard she would snort and also the times when she would let out a cuss word or two. I owe so much of my progress the past two years to Angie and Dublin. I will miss how we could be discussing something serious and then Dublin would do something cute and then we would get off track talking about our love for dogs. She was such a kindred spirit. To her nieces- Please know that she loved you all so much. We bonded over being aunts and she spoke so highly of you all and you truly were the light of her life.

Angie - I will miss you so much. The lessons you taught me are things I will carry for the rest of my life. Thank you for being my cheerleader when I really needed one. One of our last conversations was about what happens after death and I had decided for myself that we live on in people's memories of us. I know so many people are remembering all the times you made them laugh or put their lives on the right path. Thank you for everything.

I had the honor of getting to know Angie in high school. She became a close friend of mine and our group of friends shared so many good times together. Time separated us but we reunited in our professional lives and she was an incredibly compassionate therapist and mentor.
The community lost you but heaven gained an Angel.
See you in the other side homie.

She was the kindest, funniest, smartest and all round one of the best humans I have ever met. She was my therapist and brought me out of some very dark times, often with choice cuss words. The world has lost one of its best people. My condolences to friends and family.

This world is suffering a great loss. I was blessed to have Angie in my life throughout the 10+ years. She wasn´t just my therapist, she was my friend & confidant. Always told me how it was, never sugar coated anything. She is the reason I went back school and why I started my LLC. We had just discussed how she was one of two of my longest lasting relationships with her accidental snicker from laughing so hard. She was my rock. I send sincere condolences to her family and friends. Give Dublin kisses. Thank you Miss. Susan for blessing us with her, she was definitely a one of a kind.
